************ Cadet Sunday 2016 Litany ************
By: Rev. Adrian Dieleman
This Litany was used on January 24, 2016
Leader: Before the foundation of the world, by sheer grace, according to His good pleasure, God called and chose in Christ those who would believe.
Counselors/Cadets: God is the great Angler. He knows His prey. He lures them. He hooks them. He captures them. They are His forever.
Congregation: God drew them in through His Word and Spirit. He gave them true faith in Christ, He forgave their sin, He made them holy, and someday He will bring to glory.
Leader: God demonstrates this mercy, to the praise of the riches of His glorious grace, in the lives of all His chosen ones.
Congregation: We thank and praise God for the riches of His glorious grace.
Leader: Therefore, my dear friends, continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
Counselors/Cadets: We are called to make our calling and election sure.
Congregation: We can do this for it is God Who works in us to will and to act according to His good purpose.
Leader: What are you to look for?
Counselors/Cadets: We are to look for a true faith in Christ.
Congregation: You are to look for a faith that looks to Christ and Christ alone for all the blessings of salvation.
Counselors/Cadets: We are to look for a childlike fear of God.
Congregation: You are to look for the respect and love of a son or daughter.
Counselors/Cadets: We are to look for a godly sorrow for sin.
Congregation: You are to look for a deep and abiding sorrow that you have offended God and His majesty.
Counselors/Cadets: We are to look for a hunger and thirst for righteousness.
Congregation: You are to look for a desire to walk in God's ways, to follow His laws, to be like Christ.
Leader: If you do these things, you will never fall, and will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Counselors/Cadets: We thank and praise God for the riches of His glorious grace.
Congregation: We thank and praise God for being the great Angler Who catches us and saves us and welcomes us into His Kingdom.
