Children's Sermon on Acts
What is this? HOLD UP FLASHLIGHT. TURN IT ON & OFF.
Do you see another flashlight on the front bench here? GET RESPONSE. POINT TO BIBLE. I started off the service this morning by reading from Psalm 119:105 which says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." God's Word, the Bible, is a lamp, a flashlight.
When do we use a flashlight? When do we need a flashlight? GET RESPONSE ... The power went off in my home last night. My alarm clock started to flash 12, 12, 12. I got up, grabbed this little flashlight, and used its light to reset the clock.
Any idea what you girls and boys start today? You start Sunday School. A new church year has started and we want you boys and girls and every member to study God's Word. Why? Because God's Word is a lamp, a flashlight. It lights up our path in this dark world of sin. It shows us where to go. "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path."
