Children's Sermon Based on 1 Corinthians 3:16-17
I have two pictures to show you.
Here is the tabernacle (SHOW IT; EXPLAIN WHAT IS IN PICTURE)
Here is the temple (SHOW IT; EXPLAIN WHAT IS IN PICTURE)
God lived in tabernacle and temple.
The tabernacle and temple are holy/sacred/special because God lives there.
II You Are Temple
Do we have a tabernacle or temple today? Where are they?
Is this building a temple? No.
God's tabernacle/temple today is not a building, not a place, but it is people. See all those people sitting there (POINT TO CONGREGATION)? They are the temple. And you boys and girls are the temple.
III God Lives in You
You are the temple. This means that God lives in you and me.
The temple and tabernacle are holy because God lived in them (SHOW PICTURES). This means that you and your parents and everyone in this building are holy/sacred/special because God lives in you.
Did you know that? Did you know that you are holy/sacred/special just like the tabernacle and temple in the Old Testament (SHOW PICTURES AGAIN).
