************ Children's Sermon on Philippians 4:9 ************
By: Rev. Adrian Dieleman
This sermon was preached on April 24, 2005
based on Philippians 4:9
Good Morning, Boys &
Do any of you take piano lessons?
Today, I want to teach you how to play the piano.
Over there is a piano (point at it).
It has 36 black keys and 52 white keys. Somewhere in the middle of the keyboard is a note known as the Middle C but there are also other C notes. Surrounding it are the A, B, D, E, F, and G notes. The notes sound higher or lower on different parts of the keyboard.
Are any of you able to play the piano because I tell you this? Of course not. I need to show you where the notes are. I need to show you where to put your fingers. I need to show you how to read a page of music.
The Christian Life
This morning we are looking at Christian Education. We have Christian Education in the church, home, and school that tells you boys and girls about Jesus and God and Creation. But more important, Christian Education in the church, home, and school shows you boys and girls how to live for Jesus. Not just by words but especially by example. Your parents, your church school teachers, your teachers at school need to be an example for you. They need to show you how to live the faith by how they live out the faith.
