************ Children's Sermon on Micah 6:8 ************

By: Rev. Adrian Dieleman

This sermon was preached on November 8, 1998

props needed: toothbrush & paste, comb, plate & silverware; Peter Fish

Today I want to tell you, boys and girls, about what the Lord requires of you.

A But before we do that, I want to hear some of the things that your parents require of you. What are some rules in your house? (pull out different items to illustrate: tooth brush = brush teeth, comb = comb hair, plate & silverware = set table).

What about you older kids, what are some of the things your parents require of you? (don't talk with mouth full, do your homework, make up your bed, practice piano).

B Did you know that God requires something of you? It is the Bible that tells us what God requires of us. One of the things God requires of us is to help poor and hungry people.

Do any of you know someone poor and hungry?

C For 5 weeks you boys and girls have been doing something to help poor and hungry people. Who remembers what you have been doing at home? (Peter Fish). Everyday you have been collecting money for the Peter Fish. Where will this money go? (To poor and hungry).

D Pray with children
