Children's Sermon
Based on Ezra 7:10
Needed: Bible and Cell Phone

Good Morning, boys and girls.

Can any of you tell me what this is? HOLD UP CELL PHONE.
I have noticed some things about cell phones.
-always have it on you in your purse or pocket
-don't leave home without it
-check it a couple of times per day
-get messages from it
-give it to your kids as a gift
-use it in case of an emergency

Can any of you tell me what this? HOLD UP BIBLE.
Now, shouldn't we treat our Bibles like we treat our Cell Phones?
-always have it on you in your purse or pocket
-don't leave home without it
-check it a couple of times per day
-get messages from it
-give it to your kids as a gift
-use it in case of an emergency

This is a cell phone. This is a Bible.
In many ways, they are very similar.

This is a cell phone. This is a Bible.
They are also different.
Where does your cell phone come from? A STORE.
Where does your Bible come from? FROM GOD.
What happens to your cell phone if you don't pay the bill? You get disconnected!
Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the Bill.

This morning we start Sunday School and Catechism. Your Teacher is going to teach you from the Bible. And, at home, your mom and dad teaches you from the Bible. We want you to learn the Bible.

I hope you will remember that the Bible is more important than a cell phone.

Pray with children.
