GOOD MORNING BOYS AND GIRLS:
What do you see in this blank CD? (HOLD IT UP TO LIGHT AND WAVE IT AROUND).
Do you see any colors? What are those colors called?
GET KIDS TO ANSWER THAT THEY SEE A RAINBOW.
Where do we see rainbows? In the sky after it rains.
When light shines through a window or a glass of water.
When we look at an oily surface in the sunlight.
Here is the most important question: What causes rainbows?
Science says light bends when it travels through rain or glass and breaks it up into different colors.
What causes rainbows according to the Bible? God does.
God is a Warrior. Which means He has a hunting bow. After He destroyed the earth with a flood He hung up His bow. He hung His bow in the clouds. He took off its string. He put away its arrows. And, if He restrings the bow and loads it with an arrow, it is pointed away from us and to heaven.
The rainbow tells us, then, that God is a Warrior Who has put away His anger – for now. But someday, when Jesus comes again, He will again judge the earth. So, we must make sure we repent and believe.
