By: Rev. Adrian Dieleman

Genesis

Good Morning boys and girls

What was built at a place called Babel? GET RESPONSES.
Here is a picture. SHOW PICTURE.
Listen carefully to my sermon as I also mention something else built at a place called Babel.

Made we wonder about other towers built by man? Can you think of any? GET RESPONSES: Sears Tower, Eifel Tower, CN Tower.
Picture of the world's tallest tower - Burj Kahlifa in Dubai. SHOW PICTURE. Over half a mile high.

In my sermon I will say there are three things wrong with Babel. One of the wrong things is man was attempting to make a name for himself. Man wanted to brag and boast: "look at me, look at what I have done, look at my skill."

Man was living for himself and his glory rather than the glory of God.

If we boast, says Paul, we are to boast in Christ and the cross. And, whatever we do -- whether it is going to school, doing chores around home, or building a tower -- we are to do for the glory of God.
