Children's Sermon on Proverbs 1:7
Needed: empty bowl, potato chips, bottle of soda

Good Morning, Girls & Boys

Alexander and Adriana were taking a walk in our neighborhood. Suddenly they heard meow, meow, meow. Two cats were following them. The cats followed the kids all the way to our house, jumped over the fence into our yard, and played on the patio with the kids.

The next morning one of the cats was still on our patio. It was meowing and meowing by the back door. What do you think it wanted? GET CHILD TO RESPOND IT WANTED FOOD AND DRINK.

What should I give the hungry cats. PULL OUT BOWL. PUT CHIPS IN BOWL. Do you think they would like this? PUT SODA IN BOWL. Do you think they would drink this?

What do cats eat and drink? Cat food, milk, water, mouse. Not junk food.

What do you eat at home? GET RESPONSE.
Does you mom let you fill up on junk food? GET RESPONSE.
You girls and boys have a body that eats meat, potatoes, bread, fruit and drinks milk and juice.

You girls and boys also have a soul. And, your soul also needs to be fed.
What do we feed you soul? We feed your soul the Bible.
What do we start this morning? SUNDAY SCHOOL. We feed your soul with stories from the Bible. We feed your soul in church this morning. Your mom and dad feed your soul by reading the Bible at home.
