L: Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching.
P: They will be a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck. (Prov 1:9)
L: Those of you who are teachers, assistants, and youth leaders: Let love and faithfulness never

L: Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (Prov 3:5)
P: in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (Prov 3:6)
L: Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. (Ps 127:3)
P: Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. (Ps 127:4)

L: In this mixed up and broken world, how can young men and women keep their way pure?
P: By living according to your word. (Ps 119:9)
L: May all of us be able to say:

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. (Ps 119:10-11)
T: This is our prayer and our pledge:
Praise be to you, O LORD; teach me your decrees.

I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways.
I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.
L: Let us sing Psalter Hymnal # 588 "Tell Your Children"
